Serviced apartment or hotel in New Cairo: how to choose
Compare space, cooking, support and the total cost of a stay so you can choose accommodation around the way you travel.

The useful question is what you need your accommodation to do. A short trip with most meals out has different priorities from a family visit or a month of working in New Cairo. Hotels and serviced apartments can both be a good fit. Compare the actual offer, rather than assuming that either label guarantees a particular level of service.
Start with the time you will spend at home
If you mainly need a bed between appointments, a compact layout may be enough. If you expect to work, cook or spend evenings indoors with family, separate living and sleeping spaces may matter more. A studio and a multi-bedroom apartment also offer different routines, even within the same accommodation brand.
Use photographs to check where everyone will sit, sleep and keep luggage. Bedroom count does not always explain bed types, privacy or whether a guest will sleep in the living room. Ask for clarification when the layout is not clear.
Compare the services actually included
A serviced apartment can provide a home-style layout with guest support, but housekeeping frequency, reception arrangements, meals and other services vary. Hotels also differ in what is included. Do not infer daily cleaning, a staffed desk, breakfast or room service from the accommodation category.
For a Travelholic stay, read the individual home page and ask the team to confirm any service you depend on. If you need extra cleaning or transport, establish availability and price before treating it as part of the stay.
- How often is cleaning included, and what does it cover?
- How are towels and linen changed?
- Who can help outside normal daytime hours?
- Which services cost extra?
- How do arrival and access work?
Decide whether cooking changes the value for you
A kitchen or kitchenette may help if you want breakfast at home, need to prepare familiar meals or are staying for several weeks. It only adds value if the equipment fits your routine. Confirm the cooking facilities, refrigerator and essential utensils for the particular home.
If you expect to eat out throughout the trip, give greater weight to your location and the services you will actually use. You do not need to pay for more space simply because it is available.
Match the setup to your work or family needs
For work, check the table, chair, outlets and where calls would happen. Ask about the home’s internet arrangements if connectivity is critical. For families, consider bathroom access, the sleeping layout and any stairs, balconies or other features you need to discuss with the team.
Accessibility is specific to the building and home. A listing with a lift does not by itself establish step-free access throughout. Explain your requirements and get confirmation before making a selection.
Compare the total for the same dates
Use the same dates, guest count, currency and cancellation conditions for each quote. Include compulsory charges shown in the quote and any optional services you know you will use. A headline nightly price is not enough when one option has a different cleaning charge, meal arrangement or refund condition.
For a longer stay, ask how extensions and date changes are priced. A monthly figure cannot be fairly compared with a nightly figure until the number of nights and included services match. Direct booking can simplify communication with the team, but compare the current total rather than assuming a fixed saving.
Use your priorities to choose
Choose the option that meets your most important requirements with the clearest terms. If separate rooms and a cooking space will be used every day, a serviced apartment deserves a place on your shortlist. If particular hotel facilities are essential, confirm them directly with the hotel and compare the complete offer.
Travelholic’s New Cairo collection lets you compare home photographs, capacity and amenities before checking dates. Start with the area that matches your trip, then choose the home.

Keep planning.
